Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard have finally found some success as a duo, but the Greek Freak is looking for bigger and better things.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks just won the NBA Cup. The Bucks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 97-81, becoming only the second team in history to accomplish this feat.
The Bucks were led by the duo of Giannis and Damian Lillard. Antetokounmpo had an impressive triple-double with 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Last night’s win was the culmination of an incredible turnaround for the Bucks. Doc Rivers’ team got off to a terrible start, going 2-8 in its first 10 games.
Since then, they have improved, going 12-3 in regular season games and 14-3 including the NBA Cup semifinals and finals.
There are several factors behind this amazing form. There’s one guy who deserves a lot of credit, but surprisingly, it’s not Giannis Antetokounmpo.
That’s not to say Giannis wasn’t great. Antetokounmpo is averaging 33.0 points, 11.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists in his last 17 games.
Damian Lillard was no slouch either, averaging 25.4 points, 7.6 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. These two superstars have led the team during this strong run.

After winning the NBA Cup, Giannis Antetokounmpo spoke to the press. He said he was very happy about Damian Lillard’s first NBA trophy. He added that this is just the beginning of their time together as a duo.
“I’m so happy for Dame, we won our first trophy together and this is just the beginning.
“We’ve got to keep improving, we’ve got to keep getting better. We’re going to keep getting better.”
Antetokounmpo seemed genuinely happy for his teammates. The way he speaks so kindly about Lillard shows the bond they have, not just as teammates, but as friends.
Milwaukee Bucks fans will be hoping they can continue this momentum for the rest of the season.
The Bucks acquired Damian Lillard and won the NBA championship again. And with Lillard and Antetokounmpo playing like this, they should be considered one of the favorites in the playoffs.
